Sindh Peoples Ambulance Service
Introduction
Sindh Peoples Ambulance Services (SPAS) operating in Thatta and Sujawal has had a transformative impact on the lives of people residing in rural districts of Sindh. SPAS that commenced in March 2017, has been able to address emergency cases through the fleet of life-saving ambulances. Launched by the Government of Sindh and Aman Foundation, this initiative has completed over 88,999 life-saving interventions. Sindh Peoples Ambulance has performed 253+ successful deliveries en-route, saving lives of mothers and newborns. The service has enabled the rural population to benefit from emergency medical services that match global standards. The collaboration with the government will ensure further expansion of the successful SPAS project to other untapped areas of interior Sindh as well as Karachi.
Our Strategy
Sindh Peoples Aman Ambulance is run on international protocols, equipped with the latest medical equipment and life-saving drugs and is staffed with trained medical professionals. The service provides a tiered emergency response system with Basic Life Support Ambulances and Advanced Life Support Ambulances equipped with AED machines, cardiac monitors etc which is a unique service available in Thatta & Sujawal.
SPAS Command and Control Centre is powered with real-time tracking and a wireless communications network, the service aims to:
- Stabilize and transport patients from the site of injury or illness to the nearby hospitals and in some cases to Karachi
- Address common emergencies such as cardiac arrest, accidents, injuries, and obstetric emergencies.
- Reduce the incidence of loss of life due to inadequate emergency response
